Study Shows Hiring Bias

A recent study presented by researchers at UCLA and Stony Brook University found bias among hiring managers when it comes to offering a job to someone who is unemployed.  The study revealed that managers are more likely to hire a candidate who is currently employed over someone who isn’t.  This reinforces what I talked about two weeks ago in my blog post called “Time Between Jobs”  It is important to keep yourself busy between job gaps, whether it be volunteering, interning or taking an educational class.  Take a look at the article in the  U-T San Diego for the full report on the study:  U-T San Diego
